NYS 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course
The 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course is a DMV-designed classroom course that provides new drivers with information to help them drive safely.
We offer this required course online via Zoom. You can take this course from the comfort of your home. The course must be completed before you can schedule your road test.
Upon completion, you will receive your MV-278 certificate, which is valid for one year. You must take your road test within this year.

If you lost your 5-Hour Course Certificate (MV-278), you can request a duplicate. Duplicate certificates can only be issued if you completed your course with us within the last year.
